Deleted vital system 32 files…?
Well, I had a virus and I went all into my C drive’s hidden files and started deleting a bunch of stuff so now when I turn on my computer I just get a blank screen and arrow and error things. Task manager won’t open, I don’t have a start menu or destop icons or ANYTHING. I managed to open firefox by clicking print on the help and support center. Anyway I can restore my system 32? I have an HP notebook with Windows XP.
What I would do in this case is what we call a ’2nd repair’.
I have written up instructions for it and have created a slide show.
What you will need is copy of your operating system (O/S) and in your case it would be a Windows XP OEM version of either HOME or PRO.
to repair the O/S – instructions are here and you will need to insert your O/S disk and boot to it (You may need to change the Boot order in Bios to boot to the CDRom first)
http://picasaweb.google.com/gikstar/Repair2?feat=directlink# this will repair your O/S
Note, you will have to download and install ‘ALL’ of the Microsoft Updates after this finishes.
