SOS! Printer help needed!?
One of the ink cartridges for my printer has stopped printing. So when I print stuff that contains the colour(yellow) turns out empty instead. Any ideas on how to get the ink printing again?
PS: the ink is not clogged cause when I soak it in warm water the ink leaks out. So I doubt that it is clogged
PPS: I read somewhere that I use a syringe to put in some drops of alcohol into the tiny hole where the ink runs from the ink cartridge to the head of the printer. Can nail polish remover do as I don’t know where to get alcohol
Always: It didn’t work. Any other suggestions?
Sounds like you have the famous epson print head clogged problem. DO NOT USE ALCOHOL. Remove the offending color cartridge. Fold a paper towel flat into a long strip that will fit into the channel under the print head carriage. This is to catch the solution your going to put through the print head. You’ll see a point sticking up on the print head where you removed the cartridge. This is where the syringe will be used to inject the solution. You’ll need a small syringe (without the needle attached) available at any drug store. Fill the syringe with 1 part windex and 2 parts water. Placing the filled syringe firmly over the print head entrance you located above and slowly inject the solution. You’ll feel a resistance at first but it will get easier when its unblocking. Try wo syringes full with a clean paper towel inbween each try. After your done remove the paper towel and run a couple clean cycles using your print driver utility. If it’s going to unclog that will do it.
Good Luck.
