How reusable are the speedball screen printing frames?
I want to buy some pre-made screens for printing, but I want to be abel to remove the emulsion and re-use the screen several times. How well to the speedball ones work after a few uses? and can you think of any brands that are better?
Speedball is one of the most readily available (retail) screens. They are durable and good quality, but their longevity depends more on how they are cleaned and stored. Don’t try shortcuts and clean your screens as soon as possible, using the proper products. You may get some annoying discolouration from some inks but that won’t affect use. Store screens vertically to avoid tears and dents. Although there isn’t any set number of uses for screens, you should get good mileage from any one screen that’s properly used & cleaned.
