is refinishing a desert eagle worth it?
I have a full sized magnum research desert eagle that is currently matte black, the standard finish for them. magnum research offers refinishing in any of their options such as chrome,brushed chrome, gold plated,polished blued, nickel, ect. but I have heard that its possible for these finishes to rub off if used to much. the process costs about $350 with a 3-4 month wait and you have to pay shipping so is it really worth it or should i just keep it the way it is? please let me know if you have one of these guns with these finishes and if it wears off with use.
I didn’t buy this gun to look “cool” but thanks for trying. I bought it as my primary weapon for deer hunting. I even sold my Remington 700 to get it! oh i bet your all mad now. Anyways I have shot this gun just about every weekend since i have owned it so it gets ALOT of use. just need a simple answer by someone who actually owns or know someone who owns a desert eagle with any other finish than matte black.
All finishes applied to firearms will wear with use. Matte black is a good finish, unobtrusive and not flashy.
If you really want to spend all that time , effort and cash go for it.
Doing so will change the look of your handgun and will not help accuracy or function.
