What kind of flowers do well in extreme heat and high wind?
I live in the NE panhandle and I want to plant flowers that are not bulbs, I am looking for something that can stand being in direct sun, can withstand strong and frequent wind, and will work well in a window box planter as well. I tried cascading petunias twice this year and each time after strong wind they dried up and turned brown. I have a underground sprinkler system and we also hand water all the flowers so I know they were getting water. I would prefer they be some sort of flower that will flow out of my window box kinda like saddle bag. Thanks in advance for your help.
I don’t have direct experience in your region (I’m in New England), but if I would first search for plants which are native to your area. They are all set to take what your climate dishes out.
