Using a 800W converter for a George Foreman Grill 1600W, but always shocked? Why?
I am living in Bulgaria and want to use a Foreman Grill United States. At first I tried to use a plug adapter for USA and obtained an electrical discharge every time I hit grill. The grill light is "on" (apparently no power), but the network does not get hot and every time I touch the net I can get another shock. Instead of using a adapter (I learned that the overhead of the output) I decided to use a 1600W converter. The plugs are 2-Bulgaria caps euros. I connected the converter protection surge, then connect the foreman on the drive but I experienced the same shock and the network does not heat. The converter has been put in 1600W and I know can certainly handle the power. I Fear may have caused permanent damage to the network for use with the adapter before. He had worked once or twice with the adapter, but then I started getting shocked. Does anyone have any idea why not work with the converter?
probably burned for heating. Element 220 will generate 4x power more than 110V. Probably make a connection to the outer envelope and therefore you are getting shocked. It is dangerous, you can get an electric shock. "Electronics" converters do not work with grills. You should have used a transformer to reduce stress. (Sometimes, instead of the processor a resistive load, the diode could only be the case).
