Dog Swallowed 7 cooked rib bones what do i do?
My dog is about 2 1/2 years old. he is a yellow labrador retriever. he somehow got his paws on the counter and ate 7 rib bones which were inside aluminum foil. he didnt eat the foil though. what should i do? keep in my his is a large dog.
they are large pork ribs . it happened about an 4 hours ago.
Goodness, that must have been a meal to remember.
Rib bones can splinter into sharp fragments. Raw bones are softer but they can still cause problems.
He may be just fine but you should keep an eye on him and make sure he is acting normally. You may want to keep him walking but not running around too much.
If you don’t already have one, you may want to find out where the after-hours or emergency vet clinic is just in case. Some dogs eat amazing things and act normally.
